How to make heart shaped burgers
Below, I’ve included bonus tips to make this recipe easy for beginners to home cooking…
- Make hamburger patties by combining ground beef, garlic salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Divide the burger mixture into balls of ground beef that will fit inside the heart shaped cookie cutter of your choice. (in the SipBiteGo demo I made burger sliders).
- Use the cookie cutter to mold burgers into a heart shape. Gently push the meat out of the cookie cutter and flatten to about ½ inch patties with your hand. (burgers will shrink up a bit when they cook)
- Add some butter to a large cast iron skillet on medium-high heat. Griddle cook the inside of the burger buns as desired and set aside.
- Add more butter to the skillet and sear the heart shaped burger patties until browned on each side and cooked to your desired internal temperature. (the demo burgers took a few minutes on each side until they cooked to about 140 degrees temp / medium, as measured with an internal read thermometer). Remove from heat when done.
- Serve heart shaped burgers with your favorite toppings like smashed avocado, cheese, ketchup, mustard, etc.

Meat thermometer recommendations
Every home chef needs a reliable meat thermometer to cook food perfectly.
On Sip Bite Go, you’ll often see me using:
- Meater thermometer – a fancy wireless thermometer that connects to a phone app – gifted to me from a Traeger partnership.
- ThermoPro digital thermometer – which has a wire that connects the thermometer to a display box outside the oven/grill.
It’s like being psychic! The great thing about either of the thermometers above is that I don’t have to take the food out of the oven to know the temperature.
How to use ‘em… What I do is stick the digital thermometer in steak, pork, chicken, whatever before cooking them.
While the meat cooks, it reads the temperature so I know exactly what temp meat is as it’s cooking. Without having to take it out and check. It’s really difficult to overcook food when you know exactly what temp it is inside!
