Why Blackstone bacon is great to make…
- It’s easy! You just need the bacon. No butter or oil needed for the griddle. Bacon already has enough fat, so it won’t stick while cooking.
- Quick! Just 10 minutes for this delicious recipe.
- It’s bacon! Any cut of bacon will griddle up just fine.

Ingredients
Here’s what you need to make bacon on the Blackstone.
All you need is bacon!
We also add a little butter to the Blackstone to keep the bacon from sticking.
For this recipe, we’re demonstrating with 1 lb bacon (any cut).
I like to make a big batch of bacon on the Blackstone griddle when we’re lighting it up…
Because there are plenty of ways to use bacon as a topping for smoked turkey sandwiches and other tasty things within a couple days of cooking it….
The thickness will determine how long you have to cook it, but you’ll be able to figure it out!
TIP: I do like to choose a smoked bacon flavor because I love smoked foods!

FAQs
I like to use the medium-low to medium heat setting for cooking bacon on the Blackstone. Flat top temperature will be between 325 – 350 degrees F. If you cook at a higher temperature like 400 degrees or 450 degrees you can expect a much faster cooking time.
Start by preheating the griddle to a medium-low to medium setting. Place your bacon strips directly on the griddle and cook for five minutes. Flip the bacon and cook for another five minutes or until done to your liking.
Depending on the level of doneness of your bacon, you will spend just 10 minutes to fully cook the bacon. (PRO TIP – Use the excess bacon grease to season the Blackstone griddle cooking surface)
After you place the bacon strips onto the griddle, place the press directly on top of the bacon. Using the bacon press will keep the bacon strips flat on the griddle. This allows for more even cooking and it will keep the bacon from shrinking up during the cooking process.

Meat thermometer recommendations
Every home chef needs a reliable meat thermometer to cook food perfectly.
On Sip Bite Go, you’ll often see me using:
- Meater thermometer – a fancy wireless thermometer that connects to a phone app – gifted to me from a Traeger partnership.
- ThermoPro digital thermometer – which has a wire that connects the thermometer to a display box outside the oven/grill.
It’s like being psychic! The great thing about either of the thermometers above is that I don’t have to take the food out of the oven to know the temperature.
How to use ‘em… What I do is stick the digital thermometer in steak, pork, chicken, whatever… Then put the food in the oven, on the smoker, or grill.
While the meat cooks, it reads the temperature so I know exactly what temp meat is as it’s cooking. Without having to take it out and check. It’s really difficult to overcook food when you know exactly what temp it is inside!
