Using store-bought alfredo sauce allows you to create a tasty dish for your family in half the time. You’ll be able to create restaurant-quality food quickly and easily. If you’re sick of cooking every night or are looking for a new dish that the kids will love, making a meal from a jar is easy.

If you’re trying alfredo jar sauce for the first time, here are some tips and tricks that will help you create the perfect dish.

Special thanks to Sonoma Gourmet for sending over the tasty alfredo sauce used for this recipe guide. I tried both the regular creamy spinach alfredo sauce and the bacon alfredo sauce – they are both quite delicious! Check out Sonoma Gourmet’s shop on Amazon to see their full line of pasta sauces.

    Create restaurant-style pasta dishes

Cooking with a jar of sauce is versatile yet straightforward. You can choose to make either a delicious pasta bake by cooking the pasta, mixing it with the sauce, and then putting it into an oven dish and covering with cheese.

Alternatively, you can create a traditional pasta dish by heating the sauce and adding it to the pasta. You may like to cook some meat and vegetables to mix into the dish. Using jar sauce allows you to create a variety of meat-based or vegetarian dishes. Simply choose your protein, whether that’s meat, lentils, or chickpeas, and add these to the sauce.

Using a high-quality Alfredo jar sauce will allow you to create restaurant-style dishes with the authentic taste of Italy.

Is there any way to make store-bought alfredo jar sauce taste homemade?

You can use the sauce straight out of the jar, but for a more homemade taste, you may like to add some extra ingredients. A pinch of spice from red pepper flakes will help to enhance the sauce and give it a kick, or some grated cheese will give added flavor. You can get creative with the sauce. Many people like to add meat and vegetables or make a pasta bake.

Tip: If you’ve bought a tomato sauce, you can add a spoonful of cream to make a delicious creamy tomato sauce.

Do I just pour alfredo sauce onto cooked pasta?

Many people cook their pasta and then pour on a jar of alfredo sauce. They then mix it in and continue to cook for a few minutes. While this is the quickest and easiest way to make a simple pasta, if you’re looking for extra flavor, it’s best to simmer the sauce.

How to simmer alfredo sauce from the jar

The best way to improve premade sauce is to gently simmer it while you cook your pasta. This will help to enhance its flavor and will also reduce the sauce a bit. Once the sauce has simmered on medium or medium-low heat, and the pasta is cooked, pour the pasta into the sauce, rather than the other way around. This will allow you to coat all the pasta with the sauce effectively.

Don’t forget to sprinkle some fresh herbs or parmesan cheese on top of your pasta before serving.

Ingredients to add to Alfredo sauce pasta dishes

Here are my favorite ingredients to add to pasta recipes with alfredo sauce.

    • Red wine caramelized red onions
    • Sauteed mushrooms
    • Roasted cherry tomatoes
    • Sous Vide Brussels sprouts
    • Sous vide chicken tenders
    • Crispy Italian chicken

I’m also a huge fan of making homemade pizza with Alfredo sauce as the base. See this ravioli pizza recipe for inspiration.

Add big flavor with DIY condiments

    • Creamy peppercorn sauce
    • Amp up Alfredo sauce from a jar
    • Jalapeno ranch dressing
    • Tomato sauce from crushed tomatoes
    • Cilantro lime dressing
    • Marinate chicken breasts in balsamic dressing

    Hey, I’m Jenna Passaro.

I develop easy recipes that can transform your kitchen into a restaurant – and you into a true home chef.

    Where to start?

Learn the secrets to smoking tasty Traeger recipes and making pizza at home. And cook amazing tri tip steak dinners.

Or, fall in love with something new to cook with your air fryer, pellet smoker, BBQ grill, sous vide cooker, and more…

You’ll notice, I kind of geek out over new cooking trends and tools!

My story. Growing up, I didn’t learn to cook.

(I was actually banned from cooking for years)

And then in my 20’s I didn’t have to cook because my job as an event planner involved a lot of travel and it was easier to eat out. At the time, I was 100% positive that restaurant food would always taste better than cooking at home, and there was nothing I could do about it.

Until I fell in love with a chef. He would come over and cook me delicious meals right in my own kitchen. My mind was blown.

Since then, I’ve been on a mission to figure out easy ways to make restaurant style food at home and share it here on Sip Bite Go.

Love to eat out and travel? I can totally relate. See my guide on where to eat in Portland, OR.

Never in a million years did I imagine I’d ditch the 9-5 lifestyle in my late 20’s, move across the country on a whim, start a new life, start a food blog, and write a book.

    But here I am!
