    How many airports are in Puerto Rico?

    There are 7 airports in Puerto Rico that operate regularly with scheduled flights. 

    However, some of these are smaller airports and do not accommodate all planes.

    What are the major Puerto Rico airports to fly into?

    Most airlines will take you to one of these 3 international airports in Puerto Rico…

    1. San Juan Airport (the largest)

    This is where most people fly into Puerto Rico if they’re vacationing in the San Juan area or taking a cruise ship from San Juan.

    It’s also called the ​​Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport…

    And technically it lands in Carolina, Puerto Rico which is close to Old San Juan (only about 3 miles).

    2. Ponce Airport (Mercedita International Airport)

    This is a much smaller Puerto Rican airport with one runway.

    3. Aguadilla Airport (Rafael Hernández Airport)

    This is also known as Aeropuerto Rafael Hernández and is the second largest international airport.
