Type of food
Cuisine at Rincon Ibérico is inspired by a mix of food and flavors from Spain, Argentina, Mexico, and Latin America.
The quality of the food is between classy-casual to fine dining, with tables lined with linens and chef inspired plates that are artfull in presentation.
The staff is friendly, too.
Food menu favorites
You can check out a variety of regional Latin American and Spanish cuisine on the Rincon Ibérico menu including:
- Mouth-watering tapas like croquetas (also try this at Triana Tapas & Flamenco)
- Paella
- It’s a great place to try mofongo in Puerto Rico, too.
- Seafood dishes
- Sangria or something else from the cocktail menu
MOFONGO
This is a very popular dish in Puerto Rico…
It’s basically mashed plantains with salt, served warm – like in place of where I would put smoked mashed potatoes or regular mashed potatoes…
And it’s often served with meat like steak (churrasco), chicken as seen in my photos, or shellfish.
Atmosphere
When you step inside, Rincon Ibérico gives off these cute cocktail bar vibes with some two-seater tables and a bar with stools.
I really like the ambiance – specifically the lighting – and modern feel of the entrance and the flamenco music.
Location in San Juan
The vibes of this place start when you enter Rincon Ibérico from Barracks Across El Morro…
Barracks Across El Morro
The area that is Barracks Across El Morro – also in the area called Cuartel de Ballajá – is a historical site to see in Old San Juan.
It’s so stunning inside the large square.
Inside one of the lower archways is the route to get to Rincon Ibérico.
The square is in the Ballajá section of Old San Juan.
