    Here’s what you need to make this brown butter and sage pasta sauce.

    • ½ cup butter, salted
    • 10 small sage leaves, fresh
    • 2 tbsp Parmesan cheese, shaved
    • ⅛ tsp ground pepper
    • 1 lb butternut squash pasta (I used the Fall Zucchette Pasta from Trader Joe’s)

    How to cook brown butter and sage pasta sauce

    Now I’ll walk you through the detailed recipe steps with extra tips…

    1. Melt butter with sage in a medium skillet on the stove, on medium heat. Stir regularly 2-3 minutes until sauce is fragrant. 
    2. To serve with pasta, turn off the heat of the burner, and add al dente cooked pasta. Add a little pasta sauce water if desired. 
    3. Serve pasta with brown butter sage sauce, a sprinkle of shredded Parmesan cheese, and fresh-cracked pepper.
