How to griddle pickle smash burgers
Step 1. make burger patties
Start by preparing the ground beef mixture. In a bowl, combine the ground beef with black pepper and garlic salt. Mix well and divide into six equal portions. Form each portion into a ball.
Pat the pickles dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Slice the Roma tomatoes.
Step 2. Griddle tomatoes
Heat a griddle to medium heat and add half a tablespoon of butter. Once melted, grill the tomato slices 1-2 minutes on each side until cooked to your liking. Set aside.
Step 3. Toast buns
Add olive oil to the same part of the griddle where the tomatoes were cooked. Place the Hawaiian slider rolls, cut side facing down, and grill until lightly browned. Set aside.
Step 4. Griddle pickles
Add a tablespoon of butter to the griddle. Spread it over the surface and place half of the pickles on one side to grill individually. Arrange the other half of the pickles in groups of two or three, approximately the size of the Smashburger patties.
Step 5. Griddle smash burgers on pickles
Place the smash burger balls on top of the griddled pickles and smash them flat. Cook for about a few minutes until browned, then flip the burgers and cook the other side until browned and cooked to your liking.
Step 6. Assemble
Assemble the sliders with Hawaiian buns, griddled tomatoes, your favorite condiments, and extra griddled pickles on top.

Meat thermometer recommendations
Every home chef needs a reliable meat thermometer to cook food perfectly.
On Sip Bite Go, you’ll often see me using:
- Meater thermometer – a fancy wireless thermometer that connects to a phone app – gifted to me from a Traeger partnership.
- ThermoPro digital thermometer – which has a wire that connects the thermometer to a display box outside the oven/grill.
It’s like being psychic! The great thing about either of the thermometers above is that I don’t have to take the food out of the oven to know the temperature.
How to use ‘em… What I do is stick the digital thermometer in steak, pork, chicken, whatever before cooking them.
While the meat cooks, it reads the temperature so I know exactly what temp meat is as it’s cooking. Without having to take it out and check. It’s really difficult to overcook food when you know exactly what temp it is inside!
