This recipe is a really easy way to use the air fryer for a holiday meal… everyone loves these easy air fried turkey legs.

    Detailed recipe steps

    1. Preheat air fryer to 375 degrees F.
    2. Prep turkey legs for air frying. Pat them dry with paper towels.
    3. Season turkey legs by brushing them with butter or olive oil all over. Then, sprinkle with BBQ rub or poultry seasoning and massage it into the skin.
    4. Air fry turkey legs at 375 degrees F for 15-20 minutes.
    5. Check temperature and continue air frying turkey legs until done. You can flip them over if they aren’t done when you initially check them. The turkey leg done temp is when they measure 165 degrees F with an internal read meat thermometer. (In the Sip Bite Go demonstration, they were done in 19 minutes.) Your exact air fry turkey leg time will depend on how much they weigh and how many times you open the air fryer, letting hot air escape.
    6. Rest a few minutes, let cool, and enjoy.

    FAQs

Can you cook turkey legs in an air fryer?

Yes, you can definitely cook turkey legs start to end in the air fryer… and get crispy skin!

How long to cook turkey legs in air fryer?

Cook time can depend on how big the turkey legs are. For this crispy air fryer turkey leg recipe, it took ~20 minutes to finish cooking at 375 degrees F.

At the end of the day, plan on 15 – 20 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F in the thickest part of the turkey leg.

How to reheat turkey legs in the air fryer?

Set your air fryer to 350 degrees F and air fry flipping every 5 – 7 minutes until it’s heated thoroughly.

You can follow the same method for reheating smoked turkey legs in the air fryer too.

Do I need to brine turkey legs before air frying?

No, that’s not completely necessary. If you have the time and desire, then go ahead and brine away. With that said, I didn’t find it completely necessary for this air fryer recipe.

What temp should turkey legs be cooked to?

Turkey legs should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

    Hey, I’m Jenna Passaro.

I develop easy recipes that can transform your kitchen into a restaurant – and you into a true home chef.

    Where to start?

Learn the secrets to smoking tasty Traeger recipes and making pizza at home. And cook amazing tri tip steak dinners.

Or, fall in love with something new to cook with your air fryer, pellet smoker, BBQ grill, sous vide cooker, and more…

You’ll notice, I kind of geek out over new cooking trends and tools!

    Instagram me @sipbitego & chef hubs @handmodelpatrick

My story. Growing up, I didn’t learn to cook.

(I was actually banned from cooking for years)

And then in my 20’s I didn’t have to cook because my job as an event planner involved a lot of travel and it was easier to eat out. At the time, I was 100% positive that restaurant food would always taste better than cooking at home, and there was nothing I could do about it.

Until I fell in love with a chef. He would come over and cook me delicious meals right in my own kitchen. My mind was blown.

Since then, I’ve been on a mission to figure out easy ways to make restaurant style food at home and share it here on Sip Bite Go.

Love to eat out and travel? I can totally relate. See my guide on where to eat in Portland, OR.

Never in a million years did I imagine I’d ditch the 9-5 lifestyle in my late 20’s, move across the country on a whim, start a new life, start a food blog, and write a book.

    But here I am!
