Making gravy from a store bought package? See how to make turkey gravy from packet taste better with these EASY tips using just a few extra ingredients. They’re fast and simple to whip up… | sipbitego.com
1tbspgarlicminced (use more or less depending on your preference)
2tspolive oil
1tsplemon juice
2tspcilantrofresh chopped, or another fresh leafy herb like dill or parsley
Instructions
Read your turkey packet to familiarize yourself with the ingredients to make it. Choose from the steps below to add additional fresh flavors to your store bought turkey recipe.
Roast garlic in olive oil. This will add a deep, rich flavor. To do this, heat a medium sized pot on the stove on medium heat. Add diced garlic and olive oil. Stir regularly on the stove for 2-3 minutes until garlic is sizzling and translucent. Don’t burn the garlic… if it starts to turn brown, move the garlic olive oil mixture to a burner that is off to stop cooking it immediately.
Squeeze lemon juice. You can squeeze it directly in the garlic or add it after adding the gravy packet mix. A little goes a long way. You could also use a splash of Apple Cider Vinegar or white wine vinegar.
Add gravy packet mix and any other seasonings or ingredients as noted in the directions. Whisk together. (For the mix in the Sip Bite Go gravy packet recipe recipe demonstration, you’ll see Simply Organics just required the dry mix and some water.)
Cook gravy packet as directed.
Near the end of cooking gravy (the last minute, or just after gravy is done, while it’s still hot) sprinkle in some fresh herbs.
