Instructions
How to wrap a burger in bacon with the weave technique
Mix burger meat with seasonings (salt and pepper) in a large bowl and form beef patties.
Optional - stuff burger meat with cheddar cheese.
Wrap burger meat with bacon. To wrap hamburger ground beef in bacon, lay 4 pieces of bacon down on a flat surface, and weave them, overlapping them like a basket weave.
Place the burger patty directly in the center of the bacon weave.
Pull each bacon slice around the side and top of the burger patty. All four slices of bacon will touch each other once the patty is fully wrapped.
Secure the bacon to the patty with toothpicks if needed.
Grill a burger wrapped in bacon
Preheat your grill to 300 - 350 degrees F.
Place the bacon wrapped patties directly on the grill grates and grill for 10 minutes with the lid closed.
After 10 minutes, flip the burger patties and close the grill lid again and grill for another 10 minutes.
Remove the bacon wrapped burgers from the grill once the internal temperature reaches your desired level of doneness. For medium-rare, pull at 130 - 135 degrees F. For a medium finish, pull at 140 - 140 degrees F. (“pull” means to remove it from the grill)
Rest your bacon wrapped burgers for 10 minutes then enjoy!
Smoke a burger wrapped in bacon
Preheat the smoker and prepare the burger patty with bacon and cheese (optional).
Smoke the bacon wrapped burger patty at 250 degrees F for 60 - 90 minutes.
Remove the burgers from the smoker at 140 degrees internal temp.
Rest and enjoy.
Oven bake a burger wrapped in bacon
Preheat the oven to 300 - 350 degrees F.
Place bacon wrapped burger patties onto a sheet tray or cast iron grill grate.
Insert the sheet tray into the oven once preheated and bake for 10 minutes.
Rotate your sheet tray 180 degrees F for an even cooking process and continue to bake for another 10 - 15 minutes.
Remove the burgers from the oven at 140 degrees internal temperature for a medium finish
Rest for 10 minutes and enjoy.
Cast iron sear a burger wrapped in bacon
Preheat your cast iron skillet over medium heat. (medium-high will burn the bacon too quickly)
Add a little olive oil to the skillet and place the bacon wrapped burger patties into the skillet
Flip the burger patties every 5 minutes to ensure an even cook.
Cook the bacon wrapped burgers for around 20 minutes in total to your desired level of doneness.
Remove the burgers from the cast iron skillet at 140 degrees internal temperature for a medium finish
