We stayed at Oyster Bay Beach Resort as part of a foodie and family travel series, and it quickly became clear why this property is such a favorite for longer stays, families, and travelers who want great food without feeling stuck in a traditional hotel setup.

Where Is Oyster Bay Beach Resort Located?

Oyster Bay Beach Resort is located on the Dutch side of St. Maarten, conveniently close to Princess Juliana International Airport.

The location makes it easy to explore both sides of the island, whether you’re heading to the French side for dining or staying closer to home for beach days and resort relaxation.

Do you need a car?

You don’t need a car to enjoy the resort — there’s plenty to do on property and they do offer a shuttle tour of the island (sign up at the front desk) — but free parking is available, and car rentals on the island are very affordable if you want to explore more.

With a car, it’s easier to explore where to eat in Oyster Pond St. Maarten, right outside the hotel.

First Impressions & Resort Atmosphere

One of the first things you notice when arriving at Oyster Bay Beach Resort is how open and airy it feels.

The open-air lobby flows naturally into dining areas, the pool deck, and sweeping ocean views.

The property is beautifully maintained, with vibrant blues everywhere — from the ocean to the infinity pool — and it’s easy to spend time simply walking around and soaking it all in. The layout makes everything feel accessible without feeling crowded.

Private Beach Access

Having a beach just steps from your room is a huge perk, and Oyster Bay delivers on that.

The beach is great for swimming, lounging, and long walks along the shoreline.

Food and drink service is available directly to your beach chair, which makes it easy to truly relax.

Infinity Pool

The infinity pool is a standout feature and has been recognized by travel publications as one of the most beautiful pools in the Caribbean.

It’s spacious, never felt overcrowded, and offers stunning ocean views. Guests can order drinks and meals from nearby restaurants, and happy hour specials make pool time even better.

At night, the pool area transforms into a completely different experience — moody, peaceful, and perfect for a soak in the hot tub or an evening swim.

Family-Friendly & Wellness Amenities

Oyster Bay Beach Resort is especially well-suited for families.

One of our favorite features was the putting area, where you can easily grab clubs and balls and enjoy casual mini golf practice while walking around the property.

There’s also a fitness center with a wide variety of equipment, along with a spa and hair salon for guests looking to unwind or keep up with their routines while traveling.

St. Maarten is known as the culinary capital of the Caribbean, and the food offerings at Oyster Bay Beach Resort reflect that reputation.

Sunday Brunch at Infinity Restaurant

If you’re visiting on a Sunday, the Sunday Brunch at Infinity Restaurant is a must. The experience includes live Calypso music, a wide assortment of dishes, and multiple live stations.

In addition to classic brunch favorites and a generous dessert spread, the brunch features a pasta station with chefs flown in from Italy, preparing dishes like creamy chicken pasta and fettuccine with mussels.

Guests can dine indoors or outdoors with pool and ocean views — reservations are highly recommended.

Infinity Restaurant Lunch & Dinner

Infinity Restaurant is also open for lunch and dinner, offering family-friendly options, fresh seafood, steaks, and rotating Italian chef specials.

Popular lunch dishes include fried fish, red snapper, and grilled chicken mango salad.

Dinner highlights included chicken parmesan, grilled octopus, Italian tuna, ribeye steak, and an unforgettable chocolate mousse with mango prepared by one of the visiting chefs.

Veranda Bistro

The Veranda Bistro is a casual, beach-adjacent dining option perfect for quick meals or relaxed dinners. Located near the beach and the on-site market, it’s ideal for grabbing food before or after beach time.

There is also a bar overlooking the beach!

Menu highlights include rotisserie chicken, fried chicken, shrimp, mac and cheese for kids, burgers, grilled chicken skewers with peanut sauce, and a rich French onion soup.

At night, the bistro takes on a cozy, beachside atmosphere with glowing lights and a lively bar scene.

Veranda Market: On-Site Grocery Store

One of the most practical and underrated features of Oyster Bay Beach Resort is the Veranda Market, an on-site grocery store. Since many rooms include full kitchens, having a market right on property makes longer stays incredibly convenient.

The market offers wine, cheeses, cooking staples, snacks, and everyday essentials at reasonable prices. We stopped in almost daily to pick up something small.

Ocean View Suites With Full Kitchens

We stayed in a two-bedroom ocean view suite, and the layout was ideal for family travel.

The kitchen was spacious, fully stocked, and included a full-size refrigerator, making it easy to prepare meals and snacks.

The balcony was a highlight — large, private, and peaceful, with sweeping ocean views. Morning coffee and evening wind-downs here quickly became part of our daily routine.

Mainsail Penthouse: A Luxury Upgrade

For travelers looking for an elevated experience, the Mainsail Penthouse offers a more upscale option.

This beautifully furnished unit includes a spiral staircase leading to a private rooftop deck with a Jacuzzi, cabana dining area, and grill.

With stunning views, a washer and dryer, and ample space for entertaining, the penthouse is a great option for groups or special occasions.

Sister Properties on the Resort Grounds

Oyster Bay Beach Resort also shares property space with The Lighthouse at Oyster Bay, a condo-style community with its own amenities, and Coral Beach Club, which offers larger accommodations, different pool options, and full kitchens for travelers seeking more space.
