    INGREDIENTS

    For the salsa verde ground beef taco meat

    • ½ medium onion, diced
    • 1 tbsp olive oil
    • ½ tsp salt
    • ¼ tsp black pepper
    • ¼ tsp garlic powder
    • ¼ tsp paprika
    • 1 lb ground beef
    • 3 tbsp salsa verde
    • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

    For the cheesy tortilla taco shells

    • 8 small tortillas
    • ½ cup Mexican blend cheese, shredded (about 1 tbsp per tortilla)

    Optional taco toppings

    • Sliced avocado
    • Extra salsa
    • Lime wedges

    HOW TO MAKE GROUND BEEF TACOS WITH SALSA VERDE

    Here’s the step-by-step recipe…

    Step 1 – Cook the onions and spices. Heat a large skillet over medium to medium-high heat. Add olive oil, diced onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook for 5 minutes until the onions are softened.

    Step 2 – Cook the beef. Add ground beef to the skillet. Break it up with a spatula into smaller pieces and cook for about 5 minutes until most of the beef is browned.

    Step 3 – Add salsa verde. Stir in 3 tablespoons of salsa verde and cook for an additional 3 minutes until the beef is fully browned and juicy. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh cilantro.

    Step 4 – Make cheesy tortillas. Heat a clean pan over medium heat. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of shredded cheese on the pan, place a tortilla on top, and cook until bubbles form. Flip and cook the other side until lightly crisp. For extra crunch, serve with the cheese-encrusted side facing out.

    Step 5 – Assemble tacos. Fill each tortilla with 1–2 tablespoons of the ground beef mixture. Top with avocado slices, extra salsa, or other favorite toppings.
