TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST ITALIAN SLIDERS
- Keep the rolls connected. Slice the whole sheet in half without separating the buns — this makes layering easier and keeps everything perfectly aligned.
- Layer cheese on both sides. Cheese on the bottom and top helps “glue” the meats together and keeps the sliders from sliding apart.
- Secure before slicing. Add toothpicks before cutting so every slider stays stacked and picture-perfect when you serve them.
WHAT TO SERVE WITH ITALIAN SLIDERS

- Side: viral sheet pan nachos

Equipment
Ingredients
For the sliders
- 1 package Hawaiian sweet slider rolls 12-count
- 10 slices provolone cheese 6 for bottom layer, 4 for top
- 12 slices pepperoni
- 4 slices Genoa salami
- 6 slices sweet capicola
- 4 slices mortadella
- 1 medium beefsteak tomato thinly sliced
- ⅓ cup pickles or red onion, roasted red peppers
For the seasoned butter topping
- 2 tablespoons salted butter melted
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prep the rolls. Slice the Hawaiian slider rolls in half horizontally (keep them connected as one sheet). Place the bottom half on the prepared baking sheet.
- Layer the cheese. Add 6 slices of provolone evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
- Add the meats. Layer on the pepperoni, Genoa salami, sweet capicola, and mortadella evenly across the rolls.
- Add toppings. Add sliced tomatoes and pickles (and/or add red onion or roasted red peppers).
- Top with more cheese. Add the remaining 4 slices of provolone. Place the top half of the rolls over the sliders.
- Make the butter topping. In a small bowl, mix together melted butter, salt, and Italian seasoning. Brush over the tops and sides of the slider buns.
- Bake. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the tops are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Slice and serve. Insert large toothpicks into each slider before slicing to help hold everything together. Use a sharp knife to cut into individual sliders and serve warm.
Notes
You can customize the meats and toppings based on your favorite Italian sub flavors.
For extra crisp tops, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end (watch closely).
Secure with toothpicks before slicing to keep layers intact.
Perfect for meal prep – assemble earlier in the day and bake before serving.
