Ingredients
- 1 cup whole milk, very cold
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream, cold
- 1 cup half and half, cold
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 7 Reese’s peanut butter cups, chopped (save one for topping)
- 1 tbsp creamy peanut butter
How to make peanut butter cup ice cream
Whip up this creamy Reese’s peanut butter cup ice cream in just 30 minutes with a KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker for a quick, homemade treat. Make the base, add the mix-ins, and freeze!
1. Prep
- Whisk together the cold milk and granulated sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Remove the KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker attachment from the freezer and set it up on your stand mixer.
2. Make ice cream base
- Pour the milk and sugar mixture into the frozen ice cream bowl, then add the heavy cream, half and half, and vanilla extract.
- Churn the mixture for about 10 minutes.
3. Add mix-ins
- Add the chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups (except one reserved for topping) and the 1 tablespoon of creamy peanut butter. If your machine has specific instructions for add-ins, follow those.
- Continue churning for an additional 10 minutes, or until well combined.
4. Freeze and Serve
- The ice cream should be cold enough to enjoy right away in a soft-serve style. For a firmer texture, transfer it to an airtight, freezer-safe container and let it harden for a couple of hours.
