Yummy bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers with goat cheese and honey are an easy make ahead party appetizer. Make this stuffed jalapenos recipe for holiday parties like Thanksgiving and Christmas and casual get together appetizers throughout the year. Everyone always loves them!

Appetizers are the best. Sometimes I think I could live off of appetizers and desserts.

Well, I’m not reinventing the wheel here, but in case you’ve never made these before, I wanted to share my favorite way to whip up stuffed jalapeno poppers with goat cheese and honey.

You don’t have to be a perfectionist to make bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers look great and taste delicious. The inside is easy to whip together and toothpicks hold all the tastiness together.

    Ingredients for bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers

There are just a handful of ingredients that go into these.

Inside this bacon-wrapped jalapeño appetizer, you’ll find jalapeños sliced in half, soft goat cheese, honey (optional) herbs, and seasonings. Plus, of course, bacon. You can use melt in your mouth sous vide bacon for this recipe, too.

Don’t forget to take out some toothpicks, too.

Steps for making jalapeño poppers with goat cheese

Step 1. Slice jalapenos in half and cut out and discard the white pith on the inside. Set jalapeno halves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Slice bacon in half so it will wrap around the jalapeno halves only once.

Step 2. In a bowl, add the soft cheese, fresh cilantro (or any other herbs), honey, and salt and pepper. Mix together the ingredients until they are integrated.

Step 3. Evenly distribute the goat cheese mixture into the jalapeño halves.

Wrap each jalapeno pepper with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

Bake at 425 for 20-30 minutes until bacon is browned.

Rotate them in your oven and/or flip them halfway through to bake evenly. They are ready to serve when they’re done cooking. Leave the toothpicks on for people to use to eat them.

    Preparing and serving bacon-wrapped jalapeño

These days, we’re keeping shopping trips to a minimum. I’m pulling out all my old food prep skills and putting them to good use! Never knew it would be so important to know how to freeze jalapeño peppers, for instance— but it’s so much easier to visit the grocery store sparingly when I’m able to shop my freezer for what I need.

I’ll prepare a huge batch of appetizer type foods like these stuffed peppers during nap time for my days to cook. A couple of bacon-wrapped jalapeño poppers and a salad with sous vide chicken tenders is a pretty filling meal.

For game day or a socially distant party, I’ll serve these with other tasty make-ahead appetizers like sous vide wings and make-ahead Mexican salad.

    Kitchen essentials for easy cooking

    • Work on your home chef skills with something like my 8″ Shun chef’s knife and one of these bamboo cutting boards or my beautiful Acadia wood cutting board.
    • These are my favorite mixing bowls with lids.
    • Beautiful wood serving spoons are always within arms reach in my utensil drawer. I don’t just save them for “special occasions”. Use them to make any weeknight meal feel fancy.
    • Mini tongs can be handy for serving sides and salads, too.
    • Tasty meat from my affiliate partners Crowd Cow and Snake River Farms – they’ll ship craft butcher cuts of meat right to your door.
    • My sous vide cookbook, now available on Amazon.

My story. Growing up, I didn’t learn to cook. And then in my 20’s I didn’t have to cook because my job involved a lot of travel and it was easier to eat out. At the time, I was 100% positive that restaurant food would always taste better than cooking at home, and there was nothing I could do about it.

Until I fell in love with a chef. He would come over and cook me delicious meals right in my own kitchen. My mind was blown.

Since then, I’ve been on a mission to figure out easy ways to make restaurant style food at home and share it here on Sip Bite Go.
