How to griddle ¼ LB burgers
- Divide the ground beef into four equal sections.
- Season each section with garlic salt and pepper, then form into patties. Set aside.
- Slice the onion into half-inch pieces.
- Preheat the griddle to medium heat. Make sure at least two burners are heated.
- Once the griddle is hot, add a tablespoon of olive oil and the onions. Season with garlic salt and pepper. Keep flipping them while the burgers cook.
- Prepare the hamburger buns by griddling them in ½ tbsp butter on one side for 1-2 minutes. Remove from the griddle.
- Add one more tablespoon of butter to the griddle and place the seasoned burger patties on it. Optionally, use a burger press to flatten them to fit the bun size. Griddle each side for 3-5 minutes, flipping them over a couple times once they brown.
- Once the internal temperature of the burgers reaches your desired level (e.g., medium at 140°F), remove them from the griddle and set aside.
- Reduce the griddle heat to low. Place a slice of cheese on each burger patty to melt.
- Assemble the burgers: Place a bottom bun on a plate, add ketchup, griddled onions, a burger patty with melted cheese, more griddled onions, and additional ketchup. Top with the remaining bun. Enjoy your delicious griddled ¼ pound burgers!
