    WHY YOU’LL LOVE MY CINNAMON APPLE BANANA BREAD

    I threw this loaf together when I was craving a cozy cabin getaway in the mountains.

    But this recipe was really made possible by my tendency to overbuy bananas and apples — so it’s basically kitchen magic that tastes like fall in every bite.

    My family says it’s one of my best banana bread loaf cakes yet! Here’s why:

    • Warm spices with just the right sweetness.
    • Super moist texture from the bananas + apples.
    • Perfect for breakfast, snacks, or gifting a neighbor (if it lasts that long).

    INGREDIENTS

    • 3 medium ripe bananas (or 4 small), mashed
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 2 large eggs, whisked
    • ⅓ cup salted butter, melted and cooled
    • 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
    • ¼ cup white sugar
    • ¼ cup brown sugar
    • 2 ¾ teaspoons baking powder
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cinnamon (divided – 1 tsp for batter, ½ tsp for apples)
    • 1 ½ cups peeled, diced apples (about 2 small red or green apples)

    POPULAR SUBSTITUTIONS & ADDITIONS

    • Nutty twist: Fold in chopped walnuts, pecans, or almonds.
    • Extra fruit: Mix in dried cranberries, raisins, or blueberries.
    • Sweet upgrade: Add chocolate chips or a cinnamon-sugar topping.
    • Healthy swap: Use whole wheat flour or coconut sugar for a lighter spin.

    HOW TO MAKE A CINNAMON APPLE BANANA BREAD

    Step 1 – Prep the pan. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly spray with olive oil or nonstick spray. Preheat oven to 325°F.

    Step 2 – Mash the bananas. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until mostly smooth.

    Step 3 – Mix wet ingredients. Stir in vanilla extract, whisked eggs, and melted butter. Mix gently until combined.

    Step 4 – Mix dry ingredients. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, white sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

    Step 5 – Combine wet + dry. Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

    Step 6 – Prepare the apples. In a small bowl, toss diced apples with ½ teaspoon cinnamon. Reserve a handful of apples for topping.

    Step 7 – Fold in apples. Gently fold most of the cinnamon apples into the batter.

    Step 8 – Fill the pan. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Scatter the reserved cinnamon apple chunks on top.

    Step 9 – Bake. Bake at 325°F for 60–80 minutes, until the top is deeply golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

    Step 10 – Cool. Let the bread rest in the pan for 20–30 minutes (longer is better) before slicing and serving.
